You will of course have something on your bank card account but maybe not to the detail needed as proof.

With many people using phone apps for all their banking a receipt is a bit superfluous as the app will have the same details as a printed receipt.

A card statement will have a reference for purchases which can, if necessary, be traced back to the point of sale by the card company.

For a while now I've been taking a quick photo of the pump display after filling up.

Easy to rationalise with the card or bank A/C so as unarguable as a paper receipt.
