Posting from France to the UK

I had reason to send original documents to the UK recently. I sent them AV on November 19th and they finally arrived on December 28th. I suspect the delay was down to strike action. The documents were returned by the AV International equivalent with no declaration of contents on the envelope, and the return also took quite some time. They were delivered here, needing my signature, last week.

I am just watching an International Tracked item that is entering its 10th day stuck in Norwich Mail Centre.

I'm loathe to put my document with "original signatures" on it in the post. At least the Solicitors can continue with scanned copies; at this rate I'll be giving the envelope to clients who come over to their holiday home in a couple of weeks, and they can take it back with them 3 weeks later, to post (recorded still) within the UK!

Well, after 10 days in Norwich, the International Tracked Letter made Dublin in 12 days.

If I could walk on water, it might have been quicker.

Sent form to HMRC on 2 February - International Tracked. Last available information is 6 February - in transit.
