I think Israel wants the Palestinian Authority which runs the West Bank to also run the Gaza Strip.

I wonder what, when the fighting ends, in Gaza and Ukraine, the people will be able to return to.

I think the Elysée event was more a demonstration of support for a section of the population which has always been hated by the French. Tyhey're not a&lone - way back into history, the Jews have been targeted as the fall guys for any ill in Europe.
Thgere have also been expressions of support for Muslims at various times.
