French TV again

#1 Post by Blaze »

We only have French TV which we don't watch very often, but I enjoy some of the series, films and documentaries, particularly on Arte. I can't stand game shows, quizzes, or talking heads - but I'd never have watched them in the UK either.

One series I enjoyed was "Alex Hugo", about a police officer who left a violent life in Marseilles to work as a rural policier in a remote spot in the mountains. The filming in the Hautes Alpes was wonderful, with spectacular scenery and the characters were all sympa.
The hero, Alex Hugo, was played by Samuel Le Bihan and he just happened to be in Saint Malo accompanying the Paralympic Flame recently, where I was on first aid duty. I managed to get this snap :

I'd be surprised if anyone here recognises him .... but he's as nice in real life as he is on the telly. He's not as tall as I thought he was

Great pic! I'm not familiar with him, but a lovely bonus for you!

I'm currently watching FranceTV non-stop coverage of the Paralympics - in particular the Para équestra dressage. Amazing and heart swelling to see how the horses react (often better!) for their para riders compared to the "able" bodied ones. Horses just know.

Quite agree, Bayleaf, horses definitely know ! Interesting to note that the 4 horses for the para-dressage are German (3 Hanoverian and 1 Oldenburg) - what happened to the Selle français ?
I think Samuel Le Bihan is very cool 8-)
