Gite rental sites
We last let our gite in 2018, various circumstances dictated that we could not continue with it, then of course the dreaded Covid. Now we have decided to give it another go, but I do not want the same scenarios developing as we had previously, whether it exists or not who knows, but I am looking for a site that provides adults only, no kids to chase around the garden , breaking all and sundry with a football, and chasing the cats. I have done a quick search on adult rentals but nothin specific came up, and going on the normal sites it sounds a bit sleazy if you stipulate that it is an adult only gite, sounds as though you are running a swingers club. Also none of this 400€ a year subscription, get me a booking and I will pay a commission. Anyone know of anything that might be suitable, last question is has the bottom fell out of gite rental since Brexshit, is it still viable.

When we let our gite, we stipulated no children under 10 because had horses, farm machinery, a well, etc all sort of hazards that were used daily. Those children that did stay were brilliant and respectful. We also stipulated no pets as we had our own animals. There was never a problem even though some French will insist that you cannot refuse pets. Farm holidays/camping seem to be allowed to do it and as most of our guests were Brits, it was fine.
We knew people that advertised "adults only" holidays and whilst it raised a smile, they don't seem to have had any issues.
We didn't have a pool and the gite had it's own large garden - we made it clear that our privacy was as important as theirs ! We also specified no smoking inside.
We had lots of repeat bookings so we must have got something right !!
I believe that today you have to confirm that you are the private owners of the property.
Have you got a website ? Are you on Facebook ? Both seem to have produced good results for several people we know.

Can't advise about the platform as things have changed a lot since we rented out a gite. I think Le Bon Coin has a vacation rental section and their ad fee didn't use to be high. Most of the big names Air BnB, VRBO, Abritel have outrageous fees now - and they charge the tenant also !
However, I will add that after our first year with LOTS of damage from children, we changed our listing to only accept children aged 6 and older. Many folks lied about the age of their children - the children themselves told me how old they were if asked.. And, I still had a lot of damage, so after the second year, I stipulated no children. And I stated why in the listing, so there was no question it was due to previous damages to the property. Most of the people who booked liked the fact that I didn't take children.
When I check for gite rentals in various areas we want to visit, I often find more than 60% already booked up. Exception would be in the dead of Winter. So, I think most are still doing well.
Good luck !
