I don't know if it was legal. Given the total lack of parking (along the 80kph road) I would think not. The gendarmes had entered the site to investigate and was told they would wind it down within the hour.

On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Sorry to hear of the incident and of course hindsight is 20/20 however for the sake of one disturbed night I think biting your lip might have been a more pragmatic approach

You may well be right, but me, being a foreigner, would be the first to hear a complaint about noise if I dared to use a mower or power tool on a Sunday.
The loss of a full night's sleep took a few days to recover from. I didn't call the cops to complain about the non-stop noise. I called them because I was followed back to my door by several of the cretins and was subject to threatening behaviour. That sucks. I suppose I should count myself lucky. In UK I would have been dodging a knife blade.
