Fantastic, Bayleaf ! Sometimes it's easier to use a phone camera in difficult lighting conditions, they seem to be able to compensate well !

I can't take the credit - Bayleaf Jnr was the only one sticking his head out of the window at that time of night!

Typically nothing here in 22.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Last night was weaker than expected with regards the solar wind impacting on the magnetic field but tonight is forecast to be stronger again. Not as strong as 2 nights ago (level 5) but stronger (level 4). Of course it is now cloudy so no chance to view I fear.

UK news had been reporting of views of the lights and in doing my final rounds just now, low and behold, the sky to the north was green and red and visible to the eye. And we are just a gnat's whatsit of the 45th parallel.
I didn't manage to get a picture though. By the time I had found the camera it had faded to a dull red across the tree line.

There are some great photos on the Preston Past and Present FB site, Pathca. It’s lovely seeing them from places I remember.

I took these last night with my phone (not a very steady hand !) but I've seen others round here that are much better !
I couldn't see it with the naked eye. Apparently there could be more tonight so might try the camera (and tripod).
My sister lives on the Isle of Lewis so gets to see this a lot ...
