Makes perfect sense.
I have two sets of outer clothing on the go at any one time;
work clothing - worn around the house and in the garden for daily operations
going out clothing - for shopping trips, restaurant visits, dos and so on.
The first get changed at least weekly and often more frequently if I am doing mucky jobs. The going out clothing may last a couple of weeks but most weeks we only go out twice, so that equates to 4 wearings. Add to that, when I get home I will often change into workwear.

I find from the above answers that the frequency of changing clothes depends on 1/ The season, 2/The weather 3/The work done in them 4/The social occasion. Just as, or even more important is the frequency of washing. Batch wash, once a week or less frequently is going to save water and use less chemicals to pollute the environment. If you do not have 8 or more pairs of knickers, you are doing it wrong.

When we go on our long drives ie 21days we take enough so we don't have to do a wash, that's two American Tourister cases of 119Ltr and matching vanity case of 16Ltr, we don't travel light.

Above all, do not mention the recommendations of the agency (ADEME) to my neighbor because it would have harmful consequences for the ecology. He only washes his clothes on July 14th each year... If he follows this advice, his water and electricity consumption will be much higher

Electricity!
Luxury.
July would have been out of the question for the family that used to live in our old gaff.
They washed their clothes annually in a nearby stream that dried up seasonally and only
ran when there was sufficient rain.
