Louvre heist

#1 Post by Blaze »

Bold as brass, ingenious and no-one hurt. However, quite apart from the monetary value of the jewels, the sentimental value is incalculable. They will either end up in a Russian or Chinese bank vault, or broken up, re-cut and sold on.

The German manufacturers of the lift used, Böcker, have made an advertisement which has actually been well-received in Germany !

A rather proud 'Geschäftsführer' Alexander Böcker. He is less interested in the spectacular coup than in the freight lift. That's because it came from his company in Werne, North Rhine-Westphalia: Böcker Maschinenwerke, a family-owned company.

And the porcelaine musée in Limoges just a month ago!
I hope the Louvre royal crown can be repaired - the one that fell off the getawy scooter - not because it's royal, but because it's a piece of France's history.
