Weather ... again
No rain yet here in Berkshire but the hot spell is over - I found it so exhausting; 35C by day and tropical nights just aren’t right in May, besides being unusual in summer here at all.
We’re down to 22C here today and cloudy, very welcome.

Weather ... again
And here.
Mid afternoon we had a raging storm that passed just to the east - and just means less than 10km to the east. At one stage the rumbles and crashes were continuous for several minutes; and what did we get? After 50 minutes and at the tail end, a few drops of rain in a couple of waves. Neither was enough to wet out the terrace.
The garden remains parched.

Hot here and quite probably hotter with some of you. We are only on orange alert rather than red.
32°C* today and checking my records, the last time we enjoyed such temperatures at the end of June was 2005 and 2006. Surprisingly not 2003 when we suffered major fires but when the peak temperatures of 30+ were into late July and into August.
* We deliberately avoided buying in the Rhone valley where we knew temperatures would be significantly higher in summer.

Be thankful you’re not on red.
It’s quite unbearable reaching high 30°s and into 40°+ here. The pool is 31° so not really refreshing and it’s too hot from late morning until around 8pm to go out to it.
Our commune and the community of local communes have put measures in place to support residents, and the primary schools, but everyone is hoping we move down to orange alert soon.
At least I’m an early riser to walks into the woods between 6.30 and 7.30 are pleasant and relaxing.

38.9C here today. Red alert.
I am hot and bored & tired. Too hot at 06.00H for a walk.
And I don't often say I'm bored but being stuck inside the house all day gives me a bit of cabin fever.
Schools shut and keeping the grandchildren occupied is not easy. A game of Monopoly passed a couple of hours today - first time I've played it in 20+ years!

Weather ... again
44 degrees yesterday in the shade on our terrace and today calls for a repeat of yesterday.
We had 40 degrees for the two days prior to yesterday. It was 37 degrees upstairs in this house yesterday.
The pool water is 37 degrees.
VERY tired of this.

Another tired bunny here: if my kiné suggests a nice walk this morning, I'll scream! Forecast 41° for the 2nd day and it's enough. My cat feels the same - he's spreadeagled on the kitchen table trying to shake off his fur coat.-
