About a month ago on the BBC Look North Channel they had a chap on who had looked at a 3 bed house to rent in St Ives for a week. £71,000! No I havent made a typo and apparently it was checked and was correct.Lots of UK rip-offs at the moment, £1,000 for a week in a caravan etc., but I suspect come-uppance if, and when, UK travel restrictions are put to bed.

Not sure 250 a night would be classed as rip off. The hotel we were staying at was cheaper but had evening meals of up to 75 euros each.

I don't say it was a rip off. I was pointing out a rip off in the UK. Brantome is a beautiful place and I remember eating in the square in the 1970's. Very good too but is that the same now?
