I've been thinking of investing in a Scythe for some time - now I think I'm going to go for it! May reduce strimming and some mowing (and especially attacking the bracken in the animals' paddock). I appreciate there's a knack, and it's more energetic, but I'm up for that!

I remember bracken being a huge problem in Devon and they found the best way to keep it down was by crushing it rather than cutting it. You're dealing with one of the oldest plants on this planet, from the carboniferous age .... it's pretty resilient ! I've also seen it dried and baled up and used as pens for lambs.

I've tried everything - and crushing bracken on a steep slope is extremely difficult! I only do what's necessary under the fences otherwise - can't crush that either. Could borrow a herd of cows really .....

That's good to see - but I think I'd be right-handed for a scythe. I write left handed, but most other things I'm right handed! Now I'm just confused!

Bracken is poisonous to most animals but Wild boar will dig up and eat the rhizome thereby killing the plant, now, how do you attract a herd

Maybe Macron should now raise or remove the 4% price rise cap on electricity - and allow the prices to rise to stem demand if demand needs reducing? After all, he has won the election now.

I understood that the continuation of the price cap was one of his election promises. It would be rather awkward were he to go against it as well as causing the problems seen in the UK with poorer sections of society.
