"France creates task force to stem impact of ‘historic’ drought".

Everyone stop using/wasting water - unless you have a golf course. It's ok to keep that green. Seriously?  Unbelievable!!!!!

Here'a an interesting short video about a market gardener in Essonne who grows his produce without water.

Apparently cricket pitches in the UK are similarly exempted.

It’s OK since 1960 plebs are allowed to play golf and cricket

I read this morning that the golf course at Dinard is still being watered. Do councils honestly expect the general public to stop watering their plants while they waste it on a leisure activity ?

Is golf and cricket more important than agricultural land? I suspect tennis courts and football are still watered too. Implying that sport is more important than food. Well, maybe it is!

Meanwhile, a possible shortage of milk is on the horizon, as there is less water for cows, and no grass.

But that's ok - you can still go and play golf! (She says, knowing she'll upset certain types! )

I kind of meant the priviledged who own these high earning establishments really. Badly worded on my part!

Belonging to a fancy golf club is down to money and all sorts of people have money these days, nothing to do with class or plebs !!
I don't know how it is today, but when we lived in Scotland, golf was a game for everyone who wanted to play. The nearest I ever got to golf was swing a club and sending a ball through someone else's window  Never touched a club since

It is maddening ! I see the town still watering all the plants around here. I presume (uh huh) that they are using 'used water' not hosepipe since it is strictly forbidden (level 3 Crise).

Right.
