I've seen acupuncture and acupressure used on animals, and it convinced me of the benefits. The results on one of our dogs were quite spectacular and immediate.

[mention]niemeyjt[/mention] if you get one of these desks please let us know how you get on with it. I tried building up something on my desk to try out working whilst standing, but I can't seem to type properly standing up for some reason.

When the legs arrive (promised tomorrow now) I will let you know.
I am keeping the chair - and the desk is adjustable 60cm to 125cm - so I hope to build up rather than switch. I may also have to change my monitor stands to ensure they are at the correct height once the desk is adjusted for typing. It has memories so once I calculate the ideal height I can set it in. Not sure yet where CPU will go as I do not think the current cradle under the desktop will work.

Dave's double shelf looks good for a laptop - but not for all my clobber. Indeed, I shall need to be careful with cabling to make sure nothing can get trapped as it is adjusted.

Well the legs have arrived - over 33Kg! And the top is nearly 20Kg. So a definite two-person installation.

Well, first impressions:
I have loads of dangling wires to ensure that nothing catches at full height. I suspect some sticky pads and cable ties will eliminate the worst of it. I am reluctant to start drilling holes in the worktop at this point - but that may change. There is decent space at the back for an Ikea cabling rack - but the inbuilt cable rack is really for the desk's own cables - not those for the computer.
Monitor height - I still need to raise the landscape monitors by approx 5cm so the top is level with my eyes as is recommended by ergonomists. But then that applies also to my old desk I think - sod's law my monitor arms are in the UK so something else for my next trip back!
Working height - currently use 75cm when seated (as old desk) and 108cm standing so forearms are horizontal when typing. The extra 5cm depth of worktop is useful to give room for wrist supports. I actually stand up against the table - whereas am slightly further back when seated - so a wrist support fits easily on desktop when standing - it is less comfortable when I am seated and relatively further back from the desk and I want keyboard near the edge of the desk.
The CPU is on the desktop as my old cradle could not be adapted - so CPU is now on desktop next to the monitors - actually it is less of an issue as the USBs and DVD is more accessible and maybe it will suck in less dust.
Resetting it (e.g. after a power cut) involves lowering it all the way to 60cm. This will prevent taller drawer units from being fitted under the desk unless they are mobile.
I will update my thoughts once the permanent arrangement is in place - but fire away with any questions.
