Catch a falling Pa

You can "go on" as much as you like, Angela, we are here to listen, and sometimes it's much easier to outpour one's feelings in writing than talking.

Sixty years is a long time ... it must be extremely hard for both of you. It can't have been an easy decision, but getting your husband the care he needs is important.
I hope you continue to have the support of people locally and that you can get out and about this summer : long warm days and beautiful sunsets should help raise your spirits.
Courage !

Every sympathy from my side. Adjusting to major change can be very difficult. OH was in hospital for 10 weeks or so, leaving me in charge of everything as well as daily visits to the hospital. And some things - especially the garden - did not get the attention they deserved. Adjusting to a new normal takes time so if you feel the need to discuss with us please do not hesitate.

Angela, so sorry to read your news. Yes, lots on here are supportive and would want you to come on and say whatever you want and need to say.

It’s even more important to look after yourself now and try to relax - not easy when your life has fallen apart with the changes that have happened.

As others have said, I am so sorry to hear your news. It must be extremely difficult to work through it all. I'm glad you have the support of your family and the EHPAD.

Sometimes it does help to share your feelings and we are all here to support you in whatever way we can.

Take it one day at a time and do look after yourself as that is so important.

It will take time to readjust to your new circumstances.
Talking about it will help.

You probably already know this but if you need help with the garden, it is possible to use a local firm and then claim it back on your tax return. Even if you don’t actually pay tax you will still get the rebate.

Yes, we do that. The same type of service is available for other aid/services too. Your Mairie should know of the local services available to you.
