"See it"! I'm a bit mutt but I swear I can hear it grow up here in sunny but damp Brittany. :)
 I've been tucked up in bed so I wouldn't be able to hear it.
But, 'tas finally stopped raining

Well today is the first day of les saints de glace and while it may not be freezing, it is certainly chilly and with a lazy breeze.

It's been raining all night and 'tis still raining now - it reminds me of the year we moved over here that was about this time of year and the whole of May was wet and cold.
Someone will switch the heating on outside soon, and I'll be moaning because it's too hot.

I relented and let Mr Bayleaf light the fire last night! At least it doubled up as helping dry off some clothes properly. By chance, it was still alight enough this morning so I chucked some more wood on - it'll keep this end of the house from feeling damp, and is a good clothes dryer/water boiler etc. I wonder whether this is the latest we've had a fire going.

I also remember at least one early "summer" like this, when the children were still going to primary school, so about 2008/9? It was still cold and rainy at the end of June and I asked one of the Maitresses when summer would start as it was nearly school break-up time. Soon, she assured me, soon! She was right!!

Very mixed a lot of rain but when the sun is out its very warm, heating on most of the time just ticking over in the background but then about 1400hrs temp inside up to 27C, so have to put A/C on to get it back down to a more comfortable level, that the price for having a lot of glass.

Ouf! A balmy 6°C out there this morning! Brrrr! We've still been lighting the woodburner on occasion in the evenings - especially last weekend, when it was more to keep the damp from the rain out, and help dry off clothes etc.

At least it seems to have slowed the grass growth down somewhat, might give us a chance to catch up a bit!

Same here n the frozen north but it gets up to a boiling 16° in the afternoon, fanned by a very cold north wind !!
TF1 news said last night that the recent rain had brought water levels up to "normal" in Brittany and most of the west of France as well as other departments. But not everywhere .....
Our grass is growing like crazy .... and it's nice to see verges left to grow with all the wildflowers. Better for insects as well as not wasting tax payers' money by hacking everything back.

There's a cold gusty wind here today but the sky is clear blue. We're forecast a steady climb in temperatures reaching mid twenties fairly soon.

Our verges haven't been cut either, but on bends on the very narrow lanes it makes for very limited visibility of approaching vehicles. The asphodel which grows profusely in our small coin has put up a show like we've never seen before. Once out of the asphodel area though, field sorrel is invading at an alarming rate.

Yes, back up to 50km/h winds kicking up again, under a clue blue sky, but coming directly from the North. It was great fun strimming in that yesterday (not!). Mowing this afternoon should be fun too!

Cold and grey but no rain - which we really need. The ground is damp but the water reserves remain very low
