The Pope has died
The horrific abuse of orphans and children sent to Australia to relieve child-poverty in Britain has been well-documented - girls and boys suffered dreadfully at the hands of priests and nuns. The parents were poor and believed their children would have a better life and education in Australia.
With more and more abuse in church-run institutions coming out, one has to ask why religious leaders aren't doing more to condemn it. All they've done up to now is pay lip-service, nothing more.

Er.. a better choice of words might be required here. Still, as much as I dislike any religion, It does help some people, it’s the politics, misogyny and power involved that mucks it all up.

I couldn't give a toss what other people believe, but I object to people trying to force their beliefs on others. It explains much of the unrest in the world.Polarengineer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 10:24 am Still, as much as I dislike any religion, It does help some people, it’s the politics, misogyny and power involved that mucks it all up.

Did anyone see Trump in the Vatican today?
Blue suit- how disrespectful is that? Everyone else in black. And did he say thank you for his excellent seat at the proceedings. Totally unacceptable.

I agree, it was disgraceful, and all to make himself stand out. He should never have had a front row seat.

The Pope has died
It looked like he was napping or topping up his "tan" most of the time. He was surrounded by staunch Ukrainian allies, so there must have been a frostiness in the air - although he wouldn't notice that.
Perhaps he was put in the front because there was bound to be plenty of good photo opportunities to rip the p*ss out of him later ......
