Brilliant thank you demi and DominicBest that's a bit clearer now. 8-)

Here's a link to the euro tunnel info - https://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/travellin ... /covid-19/

I expect they have to keep up to date with the situation.

Yes Char when we were going back and forwards a lot over 18 months we found them up to date each time, both in English and French.

One thing that concerns me. My vaccination certificate both on the app and paper does not include my middle name. It is stated that the name on the certificate must match the name on your travel documents so will that get me refused entry? It's the same for my wife.

I have just travelled back to UK for work.
I used an airport drive through test centre for the 2 & 8 day tests and also for the day 5 test to release.
Prices approx £130 for 2 & 8 and £70 for the day 5, which was same day result if taken before 4pm

I am only about 40 mins from the airport and had checked that I was allowed to drive to the test centre.
Worked well for me so that I could get in to the office as soon as possible, most important was the same day result for day 5

Amanda, would you mind telling me which airport that was, please? By PM if you don't want to say in public.

Manchester but I believe most of the major airports have a similar set up. I used Collinson for the test, there is a discount code if you go through the airport website.

Thanks for that. My nearest is Gatwick, bit more expensive, but as I don't get back from France until end of August I am hoping Amber plus will have gone by then.

Taken from the UK gov website
France update from Sunday 8 August

If you arrive in England from 4am Sunday 8 August, and you are fully vaccinated in the UK, USA or Europe, you will not need to:

quarantine on arrival in England
take a day 8 Covid-19 test

You must still book and take a day 2 Covid-19 test.
I assume you'll still have to take a test in France before going - but will check later, by that time the rules will probably have changed again - I see La Reunion has been moved to Red so they've finally discovered it's not actually part of mainland France.

These are the rules for England

www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green ... list-rules
Before travel to England

Before you travel to England you must:
  • take a COVID-19 test – you must take the test in the 3 days before you travel to England

book and pay for COVID-19 tests – to be taken after arrival in England

    complete a passenger locator form
Fully UK vaccinated and people under the age of 18 – amber rules

You do not need to quarantine or take a day 8 test after you arrive in England if you are either:
  • fully vaccinated in the UK or under the UK vaccine programme overseas

under 18 on the day you arrive in England and resident in the UK or in a country with a vaccination programme approved by the UK

part of a UK-approved vaccine trial
You must have had your final dose of the vaccine at least 14 whole days before the date you arrive in England. You still need to book and take a day 2 test.

Elsie has it right.

I am so delighted that I won't have to quarrantine on my return from my upcoming visit.
