Copper has been getting more and more expensive for years Char the main reason why I went for plastic in my last two properties, but thats now a forbidden word.

Doug We normally have our annual repas in a salle de fêtes, but everyone agreed it was so much nicer and more convivial eating outside with none of the sanitary constraints.
Pathca It was great fun but we did get 5 minutes of drizzle during our apéro but fortunately it cleared up !

Supermarket day for this afternoon, or at least it should be, but tomorrow we are going down to the Lot for a special visit and I decided to calculate and print out my route as usual.
It should have been straightforward, 95% of the route I have done many times but this time, as the destination was in the middle of nowhere I started anew. The first route became unbelievably complicated with the final roads little more than tracks. So I started again, but the same thing happened. Finally I did the longer but more obvious route which gets me there with hardly a glance at the directions. That done, I finally thought, right time for my swim and then feed the dog.
It was only as I was descending into the water at 6pm that the thought struck me 'oh shit, I haven't been to the supermarket'
It'll have to wait until Thursday now, Jules had to have some extra croquettes, no sardines or chicken. That is one thing I calculated accurately.

Re: What are you up to today?
I know the price of copper fluctuates and obviously things get more expensive as time goes by. But, It was 14 euros a 4 metre length a couple of months ago - I don't know how else to explain a six euro rise but to think that they lost money during the covid shutdown and are trying to recoup their losses.
Any way back on topic;
We're fixing radiators back onto the walls and reworking out how to run the pipes more efficiently. Can't do anything in our less than an acre garden because it's r........- yes you've guessed it.

Know how you feel Char plumbing wise, on buying this place I upgraded the heating which had been installed by a cowboy.
In doing so I took out half of the pipework as all of the runs were very long, sometimes with a rad on opposite sides of a wall, pipes were taken down and up from the loft space on both sides.installed thermostat rad valves.
The loft was a maze of surplus tubing. Made the heating much more efficient.
Then look at the way petrol and diesel is going up.

Running around after a very active, but lovable, new arrival. More later when I have time to draw breath.
