Yes - when I listened to shipping forecast yesterday morning and heard Dover force 8 I was pleased to be on train.

Well. It must be 10 years since I was last on P&O. If I have to wait another 10 for the next it will be too soon.

Our son is stuck at Dover just messaged to say queue is ridiculous, and he won't be getting his booked ferry at 07.00. Really bad that the tunnel is just dishing out P&O tickets when others have booked well in advance and are stuck way back down the line.

Well after 7 hours I finally got to the P&O ticket booth - and she said the tunnel is now open - do I want to go back?
I decided to go P&O anyhow - although it has to be the grottiest ferry company going now - as there was no telling when a Passenger Eurotunnel would depart having to compete for slots with the backlog of freight and Eurostar.
Decided on M2/A2 rather than M20 - just in case and was home by 04h30 - only 12 hours late. The only good news is the roadworks were mostly lifted so all routes home were clear.

So what happens to the difference in the fare, my son said the tunnel wanted just under £400 return whereas the ferry was less than £200.

On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
