Yes, that was a big storm that blew through last night around 19h00 to 19h30. Lots of thunder and lightening. Luckily, we did not lose power.

Fairly clear skies this morning.

Kirk has fortunately missed us completely as far as wind goes. We've had some rain, but nothing out of the ordinary.
I feel desperately sorry for those who live in the southern states of the US, many of whom will lose everything .... and for some it will not be the first time.

It looks as if the Pays de la Loire is going to be worst hit - watch out Hughnique, AJM and anyone else in that area. It looks as if our old place will be in the line of fire but it was a solid stone built farmhouse, so should keep the current owners dry.

I don't think Kirk hits land until tonight. Florida though - whole different scale. :(

We are on a red alert for the tail end of hurricane whatever. They must think it’s serious because the prefecture is blasting warning messages to smartphones. It’s pissing it down so let’s see what the night brings. All schools closed and trains cancelled. Time to discover new leaks in my roof.

I hope all will be well and feel for the folks who have already suffered in the flooding caused by this man made monster.

A wild day today, torrential rain at times, thunder, lightning and one reset of the trip switched necessary. We were on the edge of it so I dread to think what it was like for those who got the full brunt of it.

Like Dave we have been on red alert and we have had a lot of rain. Outside I have a mop bucket, that was empty yesterday and is now full to overflowing. Being where we are the impacts have been small but down in the valleys all of the rivers on our side of the Med/Atlantic divide are on orange alert for flooding. On the other side they seem to be all on red alert. I hope for no major incidents as a result but fear that hope will not come to fruition.

A trifle damp here in Lot et Garonne. 50mm yesterday and another 45mm to come today. Not good for the folks living on or near the river flood plains.....

My colleagues are happy.

Its raining down here in the valley but snow above 3000m.

Nicely topping up the reservoirs for power generation and reactor cooling.

Saint-Malo gets this every so often during a grand marée. This was taken by drone this morning by Easy Ride. Click on it to see it larger !
