Above us only sky, below us morning dew with the Morvan mountain range in the distance and the promise of a sunny day.

The funny thing about the weather is that no two days are the same. If you become fascinated by it as a child, I can imagine that you might choose to study meteorology later on. Simple thoughts early in the morning as I looked outside from our (temporary) living room and bedroom. Never a dull moment, always something to marvel at...

For the first time ever our woody was lit for the first time today. It is usually fired up early October but it has been so mild. The temperature this am was 3.6°C.

It's abnormally warm at the moment. I've trapped dozens of hornets, Asian and European who are still around. That said, I've just emptied the traps so it will be interesting to see if they fill up again.
We've had some cold easterly winds and so have had the odd burst of heating in the evening or lit the wood burner. Our sitting room floor is wooden planks on joists which are directly on sand (no foundations) so it gets cold quickly in there. It's a big room and we couldn't face the upheaval of pulling up the boards, insulating etc.

It’s warm but wet in Lancashire for Remembrance Sunday I was at a parade this morning and it started raining about 10.30 which was unfortunate timing

We are just back from a week in Bolton where it rained every day but a good holiday nevertheless.

We had a misty start to this morning which cleared around 10-ish and it was lovely and sunny from then on for about 4 hours, when we had light rain which is continuing into tomorrow but heavier - we really need it as reservoirs are so low.

Our high today was 14C and it’s now 12C, which is forecast to continue until around 09.00h - far too warm for November. No wonder flu has arrived early and is spreading rapidly.
