Tell me a protest where the protestors have paid for the clean-up - I cannot think of any.
Nope - the Town Halls are gonna have to give the money tree an extra shake (or stop wasting so much money on frivolous projects).

I know the unions wont pay for the consequences of their acts and the taxpayer will have to foot the bill. Pity.

And not only the clean-up costs - don't forget the policing costs of the protests also - and maybe costs of affected businesses.

Here in Morbihan the young farmers blocked the expressway with tyres and set fire to them( while the gendarmes looked on) The bill for us tax payers was 300,000€. Any sympathy I had went up in smoke

The gendarmes were under strict instructions not to intervene unless there was a threat to life. It's frustrating that such vandalism and destruction is allowed to happen and it's rare that the perpetrators are punished.

Yes if it was a band of Maghreb immigrants doing it,it would be tear gas and mayhem. The law is the law and it should be applied evenly
