Weather ... again

Sitting outside yesterday we saw a couple of swallows

Well after wheeling all the citrus trees back under the roof and fleecing everything else on the terrace, it was all for nothing. The only advantage of being on a SE-facing slope is that as soon as the sun comes up, danger of frost is gone. Better that way than being hit without warning, though......

A chilly wind in Berkshire again today, particularly as we walked round the lakes at the nearby country park, so much more pleasant once we were heading back to the car, with the northerly wind behind us.

But plenty of sunshine today, so lovely watching the wildfowl on the lakes, and the sun shining on the colours of the red kites’ feathers on the way home and as we arrived.

Swallows have arrived here and it's bleddy freezing poor things.

North to north east wind, always cold.

Blue sky but woke up to just 2°. Cold wind all day and this evening.

When will it warm up?

Cold mornings here but heard the swifts screaming round the ruined chateau today. Such a joy to see/hear them again. I am always totally in awe of the journeys they make.

Ice had formed on the top of all water containers in the garden this morning.
