Former French health minister charged over covid19
A former French health minister charged over her handling of covid19.
Not sure how you can blame her, did anyone expect it to get as bad as it is?

There's an election coming up and blame to be shifted.
Compare with the time it took to bring Dr M. Garretta to trial over the infected blood.

Everyone loves a good witch hunt in France, especially judges.

History tells us that that these enquiries rarely result in anybody being sanctioned.
What is undoubtedly true is that France, and to some extent the EU, was wrong footed. The mondialisation of trade meant that simple tasks like producing masks and surgical gowns had been largely outsourced to China and the Third World. The industrial capacity to meet the demand instantly was lacking. Ditto the raw material.
France was not the only country where the ruling party tried to play down the effects of C19. In Britain the "Great Leader" reckoned it would all be over by Christmas. He only became conviced that the situation was serious when he himself was contaminated.
Even today tens of thousands of people in France manifest every weekend against a mandatory vaccination programme and the pass sanitaire.
As has already been said it's all part of the blame game and more to do with winning over the electorate for future polls rather than any real concern for the health and protection of les gens de la rue.

Remember Roselyne Bachelot being crucified for ordering too many swine flu vaccines?flatfish wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 10:53 am History tells us that that these enquiries rarely result in anybody being sanctioned.

I gather the man behind the invesstigation is leading the (diminishing) band of anti-pass sanitaires, but IMO any excuse will suit an extreme-left judiciary.

Many protesters will change their tune after the 15 October when they have to start paying for a PCR test.
France revels in its blame culture - why take responsibility if you can blame someone else ?
I worked at a vaccination centre for the H1N1 jab and we weren't exactly rushed off our feet ... quite the contrary for the Covid vax.

Is that for those who do not have a pass sanitaire?

Spardo You don't get a pass sanitaire until you've had two vaccinations. In some places, a pass is obligatory, others you can get in with just a negative PCR test. That will still apply except that from the 15 October the PCR must be paid for. It will make some people go for the vaccination rather than having to cough up for a PCR test !
The PCR test will be payant for everyone, even those with a pass sanitaire (if it's required for travel, for example).

Blaze Yes, I did know about the pass being for those with a double vaccinations, just wondered about the test and if that was replacing the pass.
Pleased to see from your reply that for people like us who have no intention of going anywhere, our passes are sufficient and we don't have to pay for a test.
Strangely enough I visited our recently re-opened bar on the day the PS came in, and realised that I had left it in the other car. She did give me a drink though with an admonishing finger. The next time I did have it with me but she waved it away as not required.
Following that I see they have a big sign saying 'pass sanitaire obligatoire' so the next time I went, someone else was serving and no-one asked for it.
So far no one else has asked for it, non of the shops or markets and even the supermarket stated bluntly that they weren't interested.
My poor PS, no-one wants it
