Whats the procedure to get it paid into a french bank and are there any pitfalls apart from being at the mercy of the exchange rate?
Thanks in advance

Phone the DWP. I think it was pretty easy, a while ago.
Humanity landed on the moon over fifty years ago but it seems too much to ask for a reliable telephone/internet service in rural France.

Thanks Sparkle. Apart from hanging on for 22 minutes to speak to somebody it's sorted.

I got my notice of the rise yesterday, 9.3 it works out didn't think that was too bad, better than a poke in the eye, due to very bad advice from our accountant years ago OH gets about half of what I get, always seems as if she should get more, but they say no.

My letters to the head honchos of DWP and HMRC (and my UK MP) re. the £4k+ top-up contributions that they 'mislaid' for 7 months have borne fruit. The money has been miraculously found and credited and I've received a report and apology from a Complaints Manager. In fact, reading this report it's even more damning than I thought as all the things the minions should have done after each phone call are listed and none of them ever were done  So now for the joys of actually applying for the pension.... I'm thinking of the whole episode as a warm-up for the Waspi battle to come

How so, the rise for 2024 is 8.5% and AFAIK only applies to the state pension itself not additional components?

Maybe he means £9.3 a week rather than a percentage.......? Mine is going up around 17 quid a week as from the 12th.
