These guys are amazing - I watched them a couple of years back on a climb in Lausanne - I cannot even cycle up it without an e-bike yet these guys were powering up the hill at the end of 100kms.

So sad to read about Bradley Wiggins, though.

Cav was at his best against the very strong sprint contingent all fighting for the win. It is unbelievable that at the age of 39 he still has outstanding speed and uses his experience to find a way through the high speed contest.

The way he found his way through the group and his finishing speed was magnificent. Truly the best of them all and congratulations to Astana for their belief and support and building a team round him.

I saw him at Blackpool a few years ago now, what surprised me was he isn’t very tall not much different in height to me. He came across as a decent lad (he was a lad then) .
Bradley Wiggins’s was a classic example of believing your own publicity He lived a few miles down the road from me at one point I always wanted to catch him training when we were doing road watch

Superb performance from Cavendish after a dodgy first two days where he didn't seem on top form. A well-deserved win and nice to see so much appreciation from the other competitors.
