Finaly got to mow the lawns this afternoon.
Haven't cut the grass since last October as it's been so wet. Trouble is it's also been warmish so the grass has continued growing a fair bit & meant wellie boots were needed to take the dog out for his early morning toilets.
Dozens of mole hills have been kicked over during the winter & altogether the lawns are looking a right old mess.
Hopefully the drying NE wind will continue for a few days so I can run the lawn sweeper over the mess & start to get the grass looking something half decent again.
2,500 m2 of grass ain't no fun to fight when you let it get ahead of you.

Save the molehills - makes a great loam for your John Innes to sow and grow seeds.

I've just come in from cutting the grass : it looked dreadful, mostly weeds and heaven knows what else. Forgot my gloves and my hands were freezing... that NE wind ain't warm !
Thank goodness for the ride-on ....

Got mine done last week, but it wasn't exactly lush before. It's been too dry here for much growth. Having just had a couple of wet days, though, it should kick start it a bit :D I never complain about long, green grass...the alternative is sad, brown and crispy!
