Make sure you get a product that is selective for broad-leaved weeds or it will harm the grass too. Above all, avoid anything based on acide pelargonique. Totally and utterly ineffective in the mid to long term!

The best thing is getting them up by hand, roots and all. I've done that slowly with a sort of flat thistley-leaved thing and various other weeds with wide, flat leaves that don't flower. Groundsel is easy to pick and suddenly appeared a few years ago (the birds, no doubt !) - I believe rabbits love it !Totally and utterly ineffective in the mid to long term!

I love daisies, so I can't offer any help! For my own "lawn", I'd favour a mix of daisies, clover, dandelions and ground-cover thyme or camomile over grass any day. I don't even mind the mossy areas as they're a whole habitat of their own, and anything that stops the grass from growing so I don't have to cut it is ok by me! 
Client gardens are different, as they're our bread and butter, so I'm happy to cut them as frequently as possible!

We no longer have land, just a garden which I avoid cutting too much apart from one small area where we like to sit. The soil in one area is clay and sand (the bamboo loved it !) and has already gone like concrete. Leaving the grass longer seems to keep more moisture in and there is an area where there is always shaded so plenty of moss and no need to cut.

But not all bamboos are thugs - you need to look beyond "Bamboo" and look at the temperament of the verity.
I have had a variegated, dwarf bamboo (variety, long forgotten) for some 20 years but, every year, it is a struggle to keep it going. Back in the UK I used to propagate bamboo nigra but I have lost every one here as the cold winter winds see off any that are planted out.
That said, I have broken spades, a Newcastle shovel and a pick axe handle digging out bamboo for others.
