It is a beautiful rose and I am intrigued to know why you want to look at its innermost petals! (Sorry, I haven't got one)

My Grandmother gave my Father an Ena Harkness rose during 1953 for his new home I was born later that year
I took a cutting of Dads rose for my first home 1975, since then through cuttings I have had the rose in 7 homes and given away many more plants What I have noticed is a white line on just one petal what I would like to know does this appear on all Ena Harkness roses or just mine

crikey I remember buying that rose for my mum with others from Woolworths but I only remember it being completely red. Every few weeks in the late 60s I bought my mum a rose for the garden from my pocket money another one I remember was Blue Moon - I think these roses were Harry Wheatcroft - he lived in Nottingham and so did we at the time so guess they were his roses. Sorry I've wandered a bit !

The Rose Society UK (replacing the Royal National Rose Society) might be worth asking.

We also bought roses from Woolies years ago ! My all-time favourite is a climber, Etoile de Hollande, which grows well on a north facing wall.
