Trees having a difficult time
So far we lost six trees this year in our garden. And even when I look from the bright side of the road when touring here in the Nièvre there are too many trees that probably didn't survive the heat and drought of the last five years. The more than generous water supply this year came too late I guess.

Re: Trees having a difficult time
A lot of trees are dying around here but its not from drought.
Its disease, first years ago it was dutch elm disease, then chestnut, now many ash trees have a disease, oaks are starting as well.
We have here all around us ash trees with many in our small wood, in the last few years about half have top branches dying off and two very large old ones will have to be cut down as they are getting dangerous.
Don't put it down to climate change just nature changing, its been going on since time began, but nature will survive, even if mankind doesn't

The acacia trees are dying off around us. There are a lot and it’s very noticeable.

Here in Burgundy, in the Morvan, there is a relationship between drought and the dying of trees: bark beetles wreak havoc in the forests of the Morvan. Deseasers and insects: I'll keep my fingers crossed for our remaining trees.

Not to mention the olive tree disease which has hit Italy, the Var, and parts of Spain.
