In spite of the truth in what you said, the game could have gone either way in terms of the result. Spain are worthy winners after coming through the difficult half of the draw. Germany and France will be feeling slightly better this morning.
England need to copy the best part of the Spanish style of play starting with a new Head Coach.

Typical performance be it football, or any other sport we taught the world to play, totally predictable outcome, in spite of all the hype the inevitable loss. Totally outclassed by a team that knew how to pass to a member of the same team, I am not a great football fan but how on earth did Harry Kane even make the squad, IMHO he spends more time spread-eagled on the floor than scoring goals. Oh well that's two boring episodes out of the way, next one is the Olympics, yawn.

Really ??!!! How so? England, as usual were negative and set up to avoid conceding goals rather than the opposite. They had no chance under the current set up.

England do not have the quick, short and precise passing capabilities of other nations. The result is that the Team gets the ball up to the oppositions defence then frequently passes back, sometimes even to the goalkeeper. With a few exceptions, they cannot pass through a concentrated defence. The players who tend to do this in the Premier League are foreign - hence, our opponents in internationals. This could be compensated for by getting the ball wide and crossing into the box BUT it would appear that Southgate's mantra is "Don't give the ball away - anywhere". A better one would be "You need to speculate to accumulate" ie risk getting the ball into dangerous areas.

Now, therein lies another problem - it is not a wingers or wingback's job to find the head of the strikers - it is to deliver the ball into dangerous areas for the opposition. It is for any striker, worth his salt, to get on the end of it ........... by hook or by crook but, mostly by anticipating and being very quick and mobile. England have Harry Kane!

Yes - apparently, Gareth Southgate has handed his notice into the FA who passed it back, he passed it to Bellingham who passed it sideways to Kane who passed it back to Pickford!
