I watched an amazing programme on BBC2 the other evening. Dr Lucy Worseley describing the renovation project.
It was mind blowing in its complexity and very interesting to watch.
I really can’t see them finishing by the Olympics next year.

Yes, we watched it too. The glass making they showed was incredible. However the work to be done is tremendous. I agree with you, it's a hell of a job to finish by next year.

They are 12 months further on than that. The programme was made a year ago.
Happy Easter

Progress updates are shown on French TV quite frequently. AFAIK, the renovation is on schedule.

I'm pleased it's looking like it could make it. Thank you for the updates. I well remember my visit in 1966 after queuing to go in. Beautiful and awe inspiring and with all the history behind it.

It's certainly impressive and must be a wonderful "project" for any artisan to work on. Highly skilled and at times risky work but you can imagine how people will flock to see it when it's finished.
I was just reflecting how much I took ND for granted on my frequent visits to Paris - it was just there, part of the scenery ...

I was showing my aunt some details about the Guedelon project https://www.guedelon.fr/ and was interested to see that they are taking advantage of the skills, knowledge and experience from Guedelon to help with the repairs on Notre Dame.
