I recently attended a 60s music quiz. Two Americans joined us (strangers).
The subject of British 60s music came up and the US lady said she wasn’t aware of any. I replied « what about the Beatles and the Rolling Stones ? » She replied «  Oh we always regard them as American, after all it was America that made them »

I belong to a members only American guitar forum where there is a section for virtually anything goes.
Since the Trump era ie about the last 10 years there is a clique of avid Trumpists who, on the face of it, appear relatively intelligent blokes but boy are they nasty when anyone (me) posts the slightest derogatory remark about their would again be POTUS.
For the last few months I've been posting " Views from across the pond" where I post links to articles from most well known UK newspapers showing the european opinions on Trump & his actions which you can imagine are not exactly favourable.
I'm a very broadminded chap but wow! you really should see the reaction to these articles. Talk about personal insults, I've probably had the lot but no amount of posts by myself can convince them that I'm just 'the messenger' & not the author.
My often asked question is; " out of a population of a third of a billion is Trump really the best you can put forward as Leader of the Free World?" but so far they find it easier just to hurl insults rather than answer the question.
Dog help the USA if these guys are representative of the November vote.

I used to live there and I am surprised and ultimately depressed that there could be that many stupid people.
And you can bet most of them are armed to the teeth.

Agree sadly. I've felt this way for many years now. And it is only getting worse, IMO. I fear what might happen after the November election.

The Trump loving guys insulting me on the forum I mentioned are apparently very well armed.
They have threads discussing their latest weapons & seem very proud to be members of the 'Gun owners of America'.
According to Wiki "there are 120 firearms per 100 people". What a shocking statistic.

Most of 'em infer they're Christians but none say "God bless you" to me

I guess stupid people have the right to be represented by one of their own, and maybe they are now in a majority over there,
