Yesterday saw the beginnings of a slight problem, when those words, "this water isn't very hot", was uttered, normally it is because she has run so much of it off rinsing stuff off. My response was leave it till the morning after the nightly heat up, so after hearing the contactor click off this morning I shuffled over to get a few more ZZZZZs in before springing in to life.
Think again, sorry to wake you sweetheart but the bloody water is cold, dreading the thought of laying under the immersion heater, I slowly arose, grabbed some tools and got to work. Why the French have to make things so complicated God only knows, barely accessible screws and the like, finally revealed it is the thermostat, another 20 minutes of working like a gynecologist, and I had the offending article in my hands, only to reveal, tucked away a small access slot with a reset button inside. Not at all visible when mounted on the heater, after pressing the fault was remedied. However my experience of this type of fault is that tonight, tomorrow or next week, we will have the same problem, so off out today to get a replacement, evidently Amazon just under 50€ but not till next week, so lets troll the Bricos, wish me luck.

Thumbs up!

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

The people who design things don't have to do maintenance on them. Years ago my MGV8 had a cracked manifold. The garage rang me and asked if it was OK to take the engine out as they couldn't get to the manifold bolts. When I asked for a progress update they burst out laughing. They were having difficulty getting the engine out so had rung MG who said that in order to get the engine out you had to remove the manifolds first. :o A young lad with skinny arms eventually managed to undo the bolts.

That sounds like computer programmers who don't actually use the programmes !
I seem to remember the days of having Minis etc that some things could only be reached by removing the engine ....

I did a custom V8 conversion on a friend's Mazda pickup and he ended up taking it with him to Jo'burg, South Africa to join his brother's business there. One day he had an unfortunate incident and broke the automatic transmission. He took it to a specialist for repair but after a couple of days they contacted him for more information. He phoned me in UK for help. How do they remove the transmission to repair it? I said they will have to start at the radiator and remove the engine first, then the trans. A few days later he rang back and asked if I would fly out to SA for a couple of weeks holiday. He would pay for my flight. I couldn't get away so had to refuse. :( A few weeks later he rang back to offer me another free holiday. While the pickup was in being repaired the cheeky so-and-sos decided to take a fibreglass mould to make a copy of the pickup bed (that I had modified) and seriously buggered up the paintwork removing the mould. He offered to set up a spray booth in his brother's factory if I would fly out to respray it as he couldn't trust anyone locally to do it. I would have loved to go out there for a working holiday but I just couldn't convince the (ex) mrs. to let me go.

@ hughnique, if it is the first time it goes into sécurité mode it can also because of a voltage peak or a strange inrush current, it doesn't mean that this security thermostat - switch off around 95 C - is defective. Could be a random event. Resetting the red or black switch
