I hope yours works.

We had ours replaced by the remote read meter in early 2024. Problem was/is the wave emitted from the new meter cannot reach the wand/apparatus used by Veolia when they drive by to record it; which they still have to do.

So, our first facture with the new meter showed we used 8m3 of water for a six month period ... It has taken me 2 years to get Veolia to acknowledge the problem; which they now have.

However, the new meter still doesn't do it's 'remote reading' job. I still have to read and take a photo of our meter every six months in order to get an accurate facture. Which, of course, means I have to remember when to do that as you only have about a two week period to report the reading. Otherwise, you get an estimated facture.

One of the most annoying 'updates' we have made at this house.

I've been wondering if it's 'signal' will penetrate our stone & crinkly tin barn walls.

Done this morning.
Two blokes spent over half an hour trying to dig down through road stopcock pit which was full of earth to turn off water & gave up.
One of 'em turned off stopcock next to barn meter & changed it in 10 minutes.
I didn't bother asking if their drive by reader would work as it was obvious they weren't qualified to answer that sort of question.
Us'll see.

How hard can it be?
After all, Jesus could turn water into wine at short notice and with little hassel.

You didn't see 'em operate.
Meter man couldn't get his key on road stopcock so spent at least 15 mins calling up help.
Help arrived with tool to dig & lift out earth but soon got bored with the time it was taking so started using a lump hammer to force key through earth.
Help man decided to stop hammering when I pointed out our incoming main from road stopcock was relatively brittle 'plastic' & might break, so he buggered off & left meter man to turn off meters stopcock & fit new meter.
Wine to water at short notice?
These two couldn't even spend the time to dig out a bit of earth from a pit.
