In the past I have used epoxy grout in showers and on worktops. I went to Leroy and Castorama and neither of them had epoxy grout. Has there been a change to best practice and if so why?

I am surprised you can't find it. Is there a trade oriented shed anywhere near you? When I was working for a builders' merchant way back when, the trade wouldn't use anything else. Maybe the diy places assume the price and the short workable time doesn't suit the diy person.
