Cheap DIY tools

Even investigative German journalists don't know the exact origin of Parkside tools. A familiar question on many forums without conclusive anwers. Anyone who regularly shops at discount stores has probably already noticed the Parkside brand's wide range of products, from garden tools to tools of all kinds. In the summer of 2023, a major advertising campaign with Arnold Schwarzenegger as brand ambassador also caused a stir. According to a study by Euromonitor International, Parkside is now the best-selling DIY brand in Europe. One possible reason for this is that the tools are cheaper than those of other manufacturers. In terms of tool quality the brand can certainly keep up with the competition, even in the higher price segment.

Some DIY enthusiasts suspect that it is an offshoot of a larger manufacturer - something like Bosch Power Tools or Einhell. Both companies however ruled out a connection to Lidl's own brand. Bosch is aware of the ‘striking similarity with the power tools in our green line’, as a spokeswoman explained. This would also be pursued ‘wherever legally contestable’. Other possibilities: Scheppach or Grizzly Tools (see this 2021 press-release by Lidl).

The verdict is still out.

I thought Scheppach made the Aldi own brand.

As for Parkside, they do welders etc as I recall - something Bosch green don't.
