@ Polar engineer, sometimes cheaper than expensive can be good, and sometimes more expensive than middle-class may result in not very good at all.
An update of
this discussion about battery revival. I gave it a try with my bird Phoenix dream, the two more or less restored red Nicklel-cadmium 12 V batteries of my Makita drill. After several months they were exactly there where I started my efforts: after 30, 40 little screws (framing artwork) they slowed down to a halt.... I could have bought two new Chinese batteries or followed the more time consuming path: disassemble, remove old Nicd batteries, install new batteries etc. I have other priorities, other words for I'm getting lazy, and gave the set away.
Why? Change of partner, seduced by a special offer I bought a Parkside (Lidl) brushless drill, their black Performance series, including one 20 V /2A li battery and charger, for 59.99 euros. Enormous torque, left/right the same, and not heavy. A second battery went for an extra 20 euros, nothing compared to the price of original Makita , Bosch, Metabo, Milwaukee or Dewalt batteries.
For the little jobs I still prefer my old 9.6 V Makita, lightweight.
 The two together.
This new Parkside drill got very good reviews by independent consumer organisations, almost as good as the triple A machines.
Prices are falling: this afternoon the German computer magazine "PCWELT" mentioned in their newsletter new much lower prices,
Amazon Germany in action for the DEWALT power drills.
To my surprise Amazon UK asks about 120 euros for "my" new Parkside machine. Regional Super-U differences and national Amazon differences.
