Fosse control
As things continue at sub snail pace on the house sale front, we are now forced to carry out all the obligatory checks and more, the diagnostic 1600€, and this morning the fosse control at 500€, however whether our luck is turning or not. The original house fosse was here when we purchased it, the one for the gite I installed and boy did I make a pigs ear of it, the tank ended up over 2 metres down in the ground, and all sorts of bodge arounds ensued. I was absolutely dumbfounded when he, after 45 minutes informed me that they both conformed, probably worth the fee to get that sorted out, I even told him at the outset I didn't expect that one to conform, hooray for that.

We're in the process of trying to sell our house too.
The diagnostics passed with a B rating and cost us just under €300.
The house was built in 2011. The recent fosse inspection says it doesn't conform although in 2011 it conformed.
Our Spanc lady is a jobsworth, but here in the Dordogne the rules have changed since 2011.

I thought the diagnostic was a bit dear, it was arranged by the estate agent so I suspect a backhander was catered for, they did charge for two houses, which it is. The energy rating was a bit arse about face, the gite, which I renovated was stashed right to the brim with fiberglass insulation and it came out at a E whereas the main house came out with a D. They said the gite was let down by no proper heating and the French doors are only single glazed, it's a gite built with the intention of summer lets, when it gets so hot we have to provide air con units and fans, all in all yet another rip off.
