The ANTS website is a nightmare

Just spent several hours transferring a carte gris for my wife’s car to myself. After conquering the way into the bloody thing via France-connect I managed to find out what I should do, using their idiot guide. Lots of things to download, with a 1mb limit, sometimes the downloads work, other times they just don’t. I finally got to the end and then received lot’s of automated mails all saying the same. I shudder to think what will happen next in terms of more documents and hurdles.
Arghh, I actually found the fisc website OK, the ANTS is pants.

Been there, got several tshirts! Just been waiting two months for them to sort out registering our son so he can start driving lessons. Just as well it wasn't urgent for a job!

I don't know what you're all complaining about. It only took them 4 years to process OH's French driving licence request.

Unsurprisingly, he's declined to try to alter the address on his Carte Grise. Doesn't feel that he's got that long to live.....

Three years and waiting. Last contact (telephone) of several said "Sorry, lost the application - you'll need to reapply". Can't do that because my original application IS ON THE SYSTEM so it will not allow a second one to be entered. Equally well, it can't be lost.
By far the worst part of french officialdom.

I've got one of those pANTS T-shirts too! Tried to register my Ferrari (thinly disguised as a Fiat Panda) to this address 4 years ago: "sorry, you don't own this car" was the response to copying the no. from the carte grise.
I ended up after another 18 months paying 50 yoyos to a registration co. to do the govt's work.

ANTS has always been a pain in the bum but though they can offer good service, it seems it's very random.
What is frustrating about doing things on line is not having someone to speak to if the system fouls up - as in @Loup-garou's case.

Close to a month later I received a request from ANTS for more information. Non of this was requested initially, but why try to reason. I collected the information and embarked on the challenge of trying to get the online system to play nice. You can only send information that corresponds to the drop down list - hundreds of them - no deviation or repetitions. I just approximated and sent it off. Within the hour it was approved and dully paid.
I think the fonctionnaire’s are well aware that the software is not fit for purpose. Managed to take payment in seconds, though!
