Yellow diamond
They have just put up a few signs on the road in to our local village. When leaving the village, what used to be a 70 has now been replaced with rappel 50 and a bloody great speed hump with 30 either way on it, so as I say when leaving the village there was a couple of hundred yards which used to be 50 but thereafter, it was signed up as 70 for about a km, now that is all 50, which was when you got on the principal route. Going in to the village, i.e. the opposite direction from above, there are a couple of 70km signs, the last of which is less than 20 metres, from a yellow diamond and obviously temporary signs telling you there is a new layout, no other speed signs until the speed hump. My understanding of this then is that it is clearly marked up coming out of te village at 50 but going in to the village it is still 70, or am I missing something.

The yellow diamond indicates priority for that road - nothing else. Rappel 50 indicates a reminder not a terminal sign therefore a continuation of the village (sign) 50 restriction. Is the village sign outbound showing a bar through the name?hughnique wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 10:54 am They have just put up a few signs on the road in to our local village. Is there a 30 cancelled sign after the hump, if not, in theory, the 30 applies up to the next speed limit sign.
If there is a 70 sign inbound from the main road up to the speed hump 30 sign then 70 is the limit inbound. If the hump doesn't have any sign after crossing it then 30 remains in force up to the village name plate where it should become 50.
Contact with the Mairie seems appropriate.
