Owning a vehicle in France, buying and keeping, Insuring, Driving licence issues, etc.Required on over 3.5 tons - but - is that 3.5 tons GVW or GTW?
For example, a 2-ton caravan behind a 3-ton 4x4?
Most info I see refers to lorries and coaches - so I hope it is 3.5 tons GVW - anyone know definitively?

Dunno about that but it reminds me;
when driving a LH drive car on m'ways etc in the UK I always turn the interior mirror to 'look out' the RH side windows & adjust the external door mirrors to give me a good allround view.
It's saved me some potential embarrassment on several occasions when a passing vehicle is on my outside in the RH Angle Mort.

A l'exception des véhicules agricoles et forestiers, d'une part, et des engins de service hivernal et des véhicules d'intervention des services gestionnaires des autoroutes ou routes à deux chaussées séparées tels que définis respectivement aux points 5,6.1 et 6.6 de l'article R. 311-1 du présent code, d'autre part, les véhicules dont le poids total autorisé en charge excède 3,5 tonnes doivent porter, visible sur les côtés ainsi qu'à l'arrière du véhicule, une signalisation matérialisant la position des angles morts.
