A new road sign in France

What does the new white diamond sign mean in France?

France has a new road sign. It is a sign with a white diamond on a blue or black background. If you drive in a lane where the sign is, you have to fulfil certain conditions.

You may only drive there with at least two people in the car or if you own a car with the green Crit'Air environmental badge (electric and hybrid cars). Taxis with or without passengers are also allowed to pass the new sign. Those who break the rules can be fined from 90 to 135 euros.

Also in cities and villages
The traffic sign can be seen on the A48 near Grenoble and the A6/A7 (M6/M7) near Lyon. On motorways, the white diamond will mainly be seen on the electronic signs. These lanes are not 'reserved' day and night.

There were co-voiturage lanes indicated on the overhead gantries on the autoroutes in the Lille area several years ago but without the diamond lozenge. Maybe there was similar in other locations?
