Public Transport in Charente Maritime

#1 Post by Headers »

Can anyone who lives in Charente Maritime give me a little help please?

I am trying without success to find out when the estivale buses along the coast between Royan and the villages to the north will be running this year.
I tried contacting the CaraBus people but they haven’t responded.
I can’t find anything about them for this year.

I’m hoping to go to Saint George’s de Didonne in May but without the local bus service it’s really not a goer.
Thankyou

I am not familiar with your area or the buses but followed your key words and located a bus timetable. I have not located anything definitive about the dates of operation except a brief note about August24 to July25. I guess you have already found this timetable showing all the bus stops and times.

I will test this link in a moment after I post it. Maybe it will work.
Edit: Yes, it shows the timetable.

Thanks for the replies. I had found these resources but they don’t have any info about the coastal holiday bus routes. Last year they ran from May to September, I just wondered if anyone who lives there had seen anything in the press about what the service was going to be this year. It certainly takes the pressure off the tiny roads long the coast and consequential parking issues when public transport isn’t available. Some of the villages are tailored to the bus services.

How about contacting the Office de Tourisme?
Or the Mairie?

I have finally received a reply from the public transport people in Royan and the estivale services start at the beginning of April around Royan.
