A thumbs up for Amazon France
I have had very polite people trying to deal with my occasional problems, mostly speaking from call centres in India. I think they can sense my thinly concealed rage after fighting past numerous chatbots and pages of FAQs that have no relevance to my problem. The biggest problems are usually with ebay. You need a bit of the Sherlock Holmes in your DNA to find a route to speak to a real human. Once you've jumped through that burning hoop you've cracked it.
My biggest moan with Amazon is their useless search filters. Mostly a waste of time. Add to that their devious ways of trying to sucker the unwary into signing up for Prime. Yes, I know you can opt out later but it is not that easy. Almost every item I look at says free postage but then on the last page about to pull the trigger there it is. Try Prime or pay €xx.99 p&p.

On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

I think most of the praise here is towards Amazon FR. I have not had similar outcomes with Amazon UK. Particularly when they sent the wrong laptop, an Aspire 1 instead of an Aspire 5, worth about half of what I ordered.
The lengthy and difficult process began when their bot, or even perhaps a human, interpreted the refund of shipping costs as that for the item.
I had to instigate a dispute with my bank to get it sorted. They refunded the money immediately, but Amazon never admitted any error, they just didn't contest my claim.
Since then I use Amazon UK only to send presents to our grandchildren in Denmark and for the odd book in English not available on Amazon FR.

Hotrodder - yes they are tricky with lots of elephant traps along the way to get you into Prime.
I used to rage at the machine and abort when I saw "free delivery" was, in fact, being charged for delivery. Then I realised that they had ticked the option for next day delivery (not Prime). I eventually realised that if I changed the "next day" to "standard" I was not charged for delivery.

I agree about Prime and being steered towards it, it's very annoying and you have to check everything very carefully to make sure they haven't ticked a box that you don't want. I object to having to opt out of things rather than opt in.
We've used Amazon.de for a couple of things, no problems at all.

Is there a phone no. for Amazon fr.
I recently (delivered 23 april) received an Airlux cooker hood ordered from Amazon but sold through Super10 apparently.
The unit was a replacement for a 20 yo. similar Airlux product & recommended by Airlux when I emailed them for a replacement ref.
I fitted it but it is so noisy it's unbearable to work beneath. After long email discussions with Airlux they admit the new model is noisier than the original but basically said " tough, it is what it is, & we're not interested".
We've filled in the Amazon returns stuff which directed us to their sellers who want it sent back in original packaging & fit for resale. This is patently ridiculous as I had to fit it use it to determine it was too noisy.
I'd like to speak to an Amazon human about returning the thing but can't find a contact no.
Is there one?

Good man, I'll try 'em tomorrow when I'm less knackered & angry.
The thing I'm really pissed about is that by sticking to the manufacturer of my original unit I've paid double what other 90cm units seem to sell for & all I've got is double the noise.

You can get them to ring you if you go through the chat bot and ask to speak to someone. Ive done it a couple of times.
