French Diary (Agenda) ?

#1 Post by Spectrum »

While in Super U yesterday we came across next years diaries, so picked one up but to my surprise :? it ran from this August to July 2023 what is that all about? :?: It was just a simple one, not for specialist use that I could see.

I suspect the price tag was a tad high as normal.

Agreed. Everything in France seems to revolve around the academic year, like it or not ....
As Pathca says, they've been around in the UK for years.

That might have been useful when I was a teacher but not now, but then it isn't aimed at such as me. What gets me is seeing standard Jan - Dec diaries for sale around June, slightly reduced in price. Our supermarket also displays Valentine's cards for sale long after February 14th. Are they expecting any sales?

Money saving tip of the day.

Diaries "come round" every 28 years (i.e. 12th October 2050 will be a Wednesday like 12th October 2022 - today) - so buy one now at half price and put it away for 2050.

Not sure why people buy calendars these days with the options of recording everything on your computer or smart phone.

The last calendar I got was while working - frequently gifts from suppliers plus a company one. Never used them then either.
