Is it available in France and if so, what is it called please

Massepain, I think.

I am pretty certain I have seen it described as Paté aux Amandes but as always I am sure it will be called different things in different shops..

Looks like pate d'amande is also used - so that's 3 possibilities.

Make your own, it's easy.
200g ground almonds
200g icing sugar
Melt icing sugar with a sprinkle of liquid , water, orange juice then mix with the almonds. Wrap in foil and leave for an hour.
You can also buy it in the baking section of the supermarket.

You can buy it in the supermarkets ,patisseries some boulangeries.

I agree with Polarengineer about making your own being easy.
I've only ever seen it sold as pâte d'amandes.

Available in Super U by the cake ingredients, red or green
