A thumbs up for Amazon France

Last week I received a smart watch, ordered from Amazon.

After 3 days of wearing it, it burnt me, I attach a photo.

I contacted customer service and complained that I wanted to return it as I believe it might be faulty.

I sent them the same picture, and they've agreed it shouldn't do what it did. So they are giving me a full refund and told me not to return the watch. They will investigate.

So a good outcome I think?

You can clearly see the burn from the watch face.

? watch back.

I have had a number of issues with goods from Amazon.fr, but they have always been resolved to my satisfaction. The one that sticks in my mine is when I ordered a collection of four large storage boxes for dog and bird food. When they arrived, the securing handle of one box was broken so I emailed Amazon and said just that, adding that the cardboard box around it was damaged but that that box was within an Amazon box which had no damage. IE the damage should have been spotted at Amazon, and I offered to send images.

A lady phoned me up in minutes and said that four more boxes were being dispatched and when I told her that I only needed the one, she said she was an animal lover too and I should rest assured that I would find a use for the other three very quickly. She was correct.

We've found Amazon's service excellent for faulty, damaged or undelivered goods. These problems have been rare over the years we've used them.
There was a time when they delivered books in not very secure wrappings - we (and probably others) suggested they make them more secure and now there is no problem. I suspect that people who didn't receive DVDs may have had the same problem.

My only real niggle with Amazon is that when the courrier service doesn’t deliver when stated they always seem to turn it into being your fault. It’s happened to me twice recently so I complained on the chat service (French amazon but I did it all in English!)
and got 5 euro gift cards both times. I also once got sent a email saying my return had been received and I hadn’t sent anything back. That was wierd.

They've always come through for us over the years. We've returned bunches of stuff for various reasons. The one that sticks to mind is the latest vacuum cleaner. I spent forever researching - not made in China - vacuum cleaners. Ended up with one made in the EU. It arrived, I really liked it; quiet and good power. 8 months later, it just stopped working. Contacted Amazon and they sent a return etiquette. We got it back about a month later repaired. That was about a year ago. So far, so good.

My only niggle with them is that sometimes they deliver early. We don't have prime and are often between houses and many times they have tried to deliver something a couple of days early and there be nobody there to take it in.

It does make timing orders a tad tricky but, hey, if that's all there is to complain about?

Yesterday I collected an Amazon parcel from my local supermarket. One end of the box was split open and the rest of the box had been taped up by La Poste. I sent an email to Amazon saying that everything I'd ordered was in the box and no damage to anything but that they need to look at their packaging (see reply below). I got a reply immediately to which I replied thank you but a refund is not necessary just the packaging needs to be better. This morning my account has been credited! I'm an Amazon fan - IMHO customer service is above and beyond.

Hello,
I hope this email finds you well.
Thank you for your message about the issue that you have faced with your order, I understand that you have received the damaged box but I am glad to know that luckily the items are safe.

You will receive a refund confirmation e-mail by us, as soon as the refund has completed in next few hours. Please allow your bank next 5 to 7 working days to process it.
Note: As the review and evaluation of feedback is an internal process you will not receive any response. Thanks for your understanding.
We look forward to receiving more suggestions and comments from you via our website.
Thank you very much for your time.
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

I bet that was an AI bot. Automatic answer, far too polite too for todays services.
