We've had lots go over here during the last week or so. You would have thought I would have got used to it after all these years, but I still stop what I'm doing and watch them and listed to them as they disappear with childlike awe.

Just had two skein fly over us heading north. In 20 years I have never seen that here.

We saw the first grues heading NE directly over our property this afternoon. There was no way to count, but it ran into at least 200-300 birds, really high up and flying strongly.

It's been a glorious springlike day and this was the icing on the cake.

A huge flock of grues are currently circling over the garden, I suppose they're using the thermals to gain height while waiting for their mates who I can hear coming up from the south in the distance. :D

Never fails to impress does it Char? Both the noise and the sight.

Never seen any here so obviously not on their flight paths.
Lots of Egrets pecking around in the fields & perching in trees like baubles on a Christmas tree. :)

A couple of smallish flocks passed overhead today heading ENE I would say.

Same here LAF. They must fly to the east of us.
We have Canada Geese and Shelducks pretty well all year round, as well as egrets and curlews flying along the shore line. We used to see and hear the grues flying over when we lived further south ....

Saw some Grues flying North yesterday afternoon - far too early in my opinion, don't usually see them until mid/late March :?

None seen or heard here so far, normally have dozens go over, bit early but then isn't everything out of phase these days.
